Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (B.Sc. (IT))
MAHADEVI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY – B.Sc. IT stands for Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. B.Sc. programs have been offered by Colleges across India since a long time! But, Information Technology program is a relatively new entrant, when compared to other traditional B.Sc. programs. Students may pursue this program after completing their 12th in any stream schooling from a recognized board. As the name suggests, this program revolves around the field of Information Technology. B.Sc. IT course, on many fronts, is similar to IT engineering program also.
Note:
A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree program typically takes three years. This degree is primarily focused on subjects such as software, databases, and networking. In general, computer science degrees tend to focus on the mathematical and theoretical foundations of computing rather than emphasizing specific technologies.
The B.Sc. IT program is designed to provide basic inputs for a broad understanding of IT and its interfaces. The focus is on “Information Technology and Management of IT”. Today, smart, successful businesses use IT to give them an extra-edge to stay ahead of the competition. IT is soon becoming a ‘driver’ rather than an ‘enabler’ of business. It is used for processes like Office-Automation, Management Information Systems for fast decision making, R&D, re-engineering and organizational transformation.
The program takes the students beyond computer skills to Telecommunication systems and Networking to E- commerce, Internet Security and Enterprise Resource Planning. This program will give a strategic advantage to the future Indian Manager. The BSc. (IT) program also provides an ideal platform for pursuing higher studies in the MSc(IT), MCA and MBA.
